YMConvoOne of the goals we have with ymnow is to be a place where Youth Ministry Leaders and Student Pastors can talk, pray for each other, share ideas, etc. In order to help that along, we’ll  post a new topic here each week designed to get the conversation started. Please share this with your friends!

What is something you face every week as a leader and seriously have little to no clue how to handle … come on now, this a safe place … be honest 🙂

List two people you consider to be mentors and why … ready, set go …

Mentors for me would be small group leader I had named Frank Hines who significantly impacted my life, and then my youth pastor, Matt Piland. Those two men played a huge role in impacting me and helped shape who I am today.

I think that it goes without saying but my youth pastors have probably the most significant influence on my life in several different ways. A specific influence and mentor after graduating and starting to really serve in ministry was a music minister named Aric Harding. Really big heart for worship, super great guy and awesome role model for what it looks like to be a good friend, minister, husband, father, and follower of The Lord.

While I’m comfortable w/ and enjoy versitility in my role as a student pastor, I still (after 10 years) struggle w/ time management regularly!
